JENNIFER Aniston underwent IVF as she secretly suffered fertility issues in her struggle to have kids, the Friends star has revealed.

And the years of widespread scrutiny during her childless marriages to Brad Pitt and Justin Theroux made her heartache even worse with a "narrative that I was just selfish".

The 53-year-old told Allure magazine: "All the years and years speculation...It was really hard. I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it.

"I would've given anything if someone had said to me, 'Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favour'.

"You just don't think it. So here I am today. The ship has sailed."

Listing the false claims she faced during her private battle to start a family, she said: "I just cared about my career. And God forbid a woman is successful and doesn't have a child.
