Dad died doing what he loved

A PENSIONER fell to his death in Glen Coe moments after making a final phone call to his family.

Freddie Rae, 74, was found on Beinn a' Chrulaiste after he failed to return from his hillwalk on Saturday.

The super-fit grandad had left his home in Motherwell for the Highlands to "make the most of the weather" as the country enjoyed a heatwave.

The experienced climber scaled the peak before tragedy struck.

Devastated son Peter, 39, told how his dad called his brother to say he had reached the top and was in great spirits.
