MIKAEL MANDRON isn't worried about the howling wind blowing in Arbroath after managing to dodge a blast from Paolo di Canio.
The Motherwell new boy came through the ranks at Sunderland when the volatile Italian was in charge but avoided any hairdryer treatment.
Mandron is grateful to the former Celtic favourite for handing him his debut for the Black Cats and setting him off on a career that’s taken him around the country to clubs such as Wigan, Colchester United and Gillingham before he arrived at Fir Park earlier this month.
The frontman is out for Scottish Cup joy at Arbroath today and he said: Paolo was my first manager and he was great to me. He gave me my debut so I will be forever grateful to him.
“He was a very good coach, he was big on detail and he was great for me. He has his own way of doing things but he had success at Sunderland. He kept the team in the league, that was his task and he achieved it.
