Killer who knifed pregnant lover for keeping baby jailed for 42 years

A MURDERER has been jailed for life with a minimum of 42 years for stabbing his pregnant girlfriend to death when she refused to abort their baby.

Shaine March was out of prison on licence when he knifed 32-year-old Alana Odysseos 19 times at her home on July 22 last year.

Neighbours heard Alana say: "I don't want to kill my baby."

She was later found in the street bleeding from multiple wounds.

March, 47, told police about his attack on the mum of two, saying: "I did it. I killed her, hahahaha."

He refused to appear in person at the Old Bailey yesterday, telling prison staff: "It's only a sentencing."

Mr Justice Murray said aggravating features of the case included sustained violence against Alana and that March had inflicted coercive and controlling behaviour.
