Kate off air to care for ‘seriously unwell’ Derek

KATE Garraway has pulled out of fronting Good Morning Britain after her husband Derek Draper went back to hospital having taken a “very serious” turn for the worse.

The GMB host’s partner, 54, is “seriously unwell” so Kate has changed her diary to be by his side as much as possible in the coming days.

One source close to the family said Kate was putting all her energy into caring for him, which meant she couldn’t host GMB as normal this week.

They added: “Derek is back in hospital in a very serious condition but the family knows he is in the best hands.

“Kate is doing everything she can for her husband. He comes first and so work will have to take a back seat this week.”

It is not the first time Derek has been in hospital this month.
