Football united..to save replays

Campaign group's plea

FOOTBALL club owners, fans and campaigners united yesterday to back our call to save the magic of the FA Cup.

Mark Palios, executive chairman of Tranmere Rovers, and Maidstone United owner Oliver Ash urged the FA to bring back replays for the sake of millions of supporters.

As new research showed the growing inequality in the modern game, the group met at AFC Wimbledon's Cherry Red Records stadium in South London for the annual conference of football campaign group Fair Game.
