A Police Sergeant and his wife had fallen into the Kandepuhulpolaoya canal at Madawalthenna Bogahakumbura off Badulla and drowned in their attempt to cross the canal on Monday night (17).
The victims Achintha Lakmal Madusanka (37), of Kebithigollewa STF camp and his wife H. M. Nalika Dhananjani (32) were residents of Kandepuhulpola in Bogahakumbura.
