Moscow unleashes fresh missile blitz across cities

RUSSIAN air strikes hit cities across Ukraine yesterday leaving at least nine people dead and power lost at Europe's largest nuclear plant.

Vladimir Putin launched the largest wave of aerial assaults for weeks, using a mixture of hypersonic and cruise missiles and drones.

Terrified residents raced to underground shelters as explosions rang out in capital Kyiv, Kharkiv in the north, Odesa in the south and Zhytomyr and Lviv in the west.

Air raid sirens wailed throughout the night and early morning, with blackouts hitting many areas after power infrastructure was hit, with buildings and cars ablaze.
