FIVE people have been arrested in connection with human trafficking, modern day slavery and conspiracy to control prostitution for gain following a series of raids on 'massage parlours' suspected to be offering sexual services.

Suspects include a man and woman in their 50s from Bristol who were arrested at an address in the city on the night of Wednesday, October 15.

The arrests follow raids on premises operating as massage parlours that officers suspected were a front for the peddling of sexual services.

Seven women were safeguarded following the raids on seven 'massage parlours' in Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Reading.

Two warrants were conducted at premises in Chippenham, Wiltshire, on the morning of Thursday, October 16, following large-scale investigation led by the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit (SWROCU).
