WENT to a wedding the other week, which is hardly surprising seeing as we are in the season for weddings right now. Probably got something to do with the weather. It being summer and all. Not that you can trust the English weather to do what it’s supposed to do most of the time. Sigh.

‘The point is, it was an incredible celebration of all things good, glorious and sweet. ‘There were hundreds of happy people in attendance, everything went off wonderfully and, I think it's fair to say, joy was unconfined for one and all. In short, it was a genuinely beautiful day. In every sense of the word. Including the weather which, for once, did exactly what it said it would do. It poured down endless streams of summer sunshine all day long, like a long golden warm embrace, holding us in its arms from dawn 'til dusk.

At this point, dear reader, you may be wondering why I am bothering to tell you this, After all, weddings happen all the time. And most of them are glorious and gorgeous occasions when love is all around. However, the reason I mention this particular nuptial ceremony is because it had a fascinating effect on my soft old heart and soul. Which I want to share. See if you recognise where I'm coming from.
