Thai and Lao postal agencies join forces on e-commerce

Thailand Post and Lao Post have jointly strengthened e-commerce and cross-border trade to drive digital economy connectivity across Thailand, Laos and China.

According to the Commerce Ministry, as of September 2025 total trade between the Thailand and Laos exceeded 24 billion baht, up 8.8% year-on-year.

This trend aligns with the rapidly expanding e-commerce market in Laos, where online shopping and cash-on-delivery service have risen sharply.

Dhanant Subhadrabandhu, president of Thailand Post, said both agencies entered a cooperative memorandum of understanding to strengthen e-commerce and cross-border trade.

He said the pact should reinforce Thailand Post's role as a logistics leader in Southeast Asia.

Both agencies jointly established strategic frameworks aiming at enhancing cross-border e-commerce, developing logistics infrastructure, and advancing digital financial innovation to support economic interconnectivity between Thailand, Laos and China.
