Energy Asia 2025 to Power the Conversation on Asia's Transition
Bangkok Post

Over 4,000 global delegates to converge in Kuala Lumpur to discuss the solutions needed in balancing economic growth with Asia’s climate goals.
-
As Asia navigates the dual challenge of economic development and environmental responsibility, the region faces a pivotal question: how to transform its energy landscape to support both growth and sustainability for nearly two-thirds of the global population.
With energy security high on the agenda across Asian nations, policymakers and industries must strike a delicate balance between urgent climate action and the need for economic stability. In emerging and developing economies, the energy transition must also be rooted in principles of access and affordability.
Energy Asia 2025, scheduled to take place from 16 to 18 June at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia, seeks to address this critical juncture. Under the theme “Delivering Asia's Energy Transition”, the conference will convene regional and global leaders across policy, industry, and innovation to align strategies for building energy resilience across Asia.
Hosted by PETRONAS in collaboration with its Knowledge Partner, CERAWeek by S&P Global, the event comes amid a growing urgency to decarbonise. With 85% of Asia’s energy still derived from fossil fuels and the region accounting for half of global greenhouse gas emissions, the pressure to shift course intensifies — especially as energy demand in Asia is forecast to double by 2030.
