Gen Z turns to silver ETFs as prices hit Rs 3.22 lakh/kg

Silver prices in India have surged past Rs 3.22 lakh per kilogram on the Multi Commodity Exchange on Tuesday, driven by geopolitical uncertainty, tight physical supply and elevated investor demand.

Market analysts say a notable feature of this rally has been higher demand for silver-linked exchange-traded funds by Gen Z and retail investors over the past six months, as these groups seek diversified exposure to tangible assets amid volatility in traditional financial markets. ETF inflows have strengthened silver’s position as an accessible investment vehicle, expanding its assets under management and drawing attention from younger and first-time investors.
