-
Teenagers suffering from mental health issues are rising. Studies indicate that one in five teenagers has a mental health issue, but do not get help because they are embarrassed, or unsure where to look for support. The COVID-19 pandemic compounded things, and teenagers unable to attend school or meet friends, resorted to screen-time causing stress and loneliness.
Causes of Mental Health Disorders
Students feel 'pressure at school' due to exams, competition, and high expectations from parents and teachers.
Beautiful pictures on 'social media' influence them judge themselves and feel miserable about their own life.
'Peer pressure and identity issues' make teens feel lost and depressed as they try hard to fit in.
'Societal and family expectations' make teens lonely when they think their parents cannot understand them.
