RETURN OF THE DIVER

During the launch of the new Pontos S Diver in Malaysia, we took the chance to discuss the collection's return with MARCEL GUT, International Sales Director of Maurice Lacroix.

IT WAS A DECADE AGO THAT MAURICE LACROIX INTRODUCED ITS FIRST PONTOS S DIVER WATCH. QUICKLY GAINING A FOLLOWING AMONG DIVERS AND DIVE WATCH ENTHUSIASTS, IT WAS DISCONTINUED JUST THREE YEARS LATER TO MAKE WAY FOR THE AIKON. FOR ITS TENTH ANNIVERSARY, HOWEVER, CAME THE GOOD NEWS THAT MANY WERE ELATED TO HEAR: THE PONTOS S DIVER HAS RESURFACED.

Marcel Gut, International Sales Director of Maurice Lacroix, stopped by Kuala Lumpur during the watch’s early July launch in Malaysia. Wearing a smile as bright as his orange shirt, he sat down for an interview with us at the end of event, happy to discuss the new collection and his own decennial with the Jura-based brand.

“This combination doesn’t officially exist,” he said, showing off the Pontos S Diver on his wrist, perfectly matched to his outfit. Officially, the orange rubber strap would’ve been paired with the black dial, but today Marcel wears it with the white dial, demonstrating the watch’s flexibility in terms of looks. “With the Easy Strap Exchange system, I can easily change to any strap in any colour and material.”
