Due to the never-ending pandemic, it has been practically impossible to attend many, if at all, of the bonsai shows and conventions. Thankfully, this all changed this year and from the 17-19 of June the doors were finally reopened for the EBA and BCD Bonsai Convention in Augsburg, Germany where around 3,500 visitors from all over Europe made their way to the Bavarian city.
In the entrance hall, the visitors were immediately presented with a few taster highlights in the form of classic cars together with some first-class bonsai from the Kokufuten, Taikan-ten and the World Bonsai Convention 2018 from Saitama. Though the overall dimensions of the classic cars were somewhat overwhelming, this didn't take anything away from the exuberant bonsai on display. Proceeding through the entrance hall into the main area is where the action begins with the presentation of bonsai from the Bonsai Club Deutschland (BCD) and EBA.
