Putting your feet up never looked so good
01. 'TAMBUROUND' CHAIR
by Barber Osgerby, for Cassina
Like satellites that rotate around one another, the seat and backrest of Barber Osgerby's 'Tamburound' chair are set on two harmonious orbits that allow both elements to swivel 360 degrees independently. Aiming to encourage a more dynamic interaction between diners, and taking inspiration from the idea of motion, the British studio's design features a black steel base that hides a disk mechanism developed by Cassina, and is connected to a sinuous pedestal available in either China Red or Dust. From £2,007, cassina.com
02. 'MR LOVELAND' SOFA
by Patricia Urquiola, for Moroso
Patricia Urquiola has revisited her 2000 'Lowland' and 'Lowseat' systems for Moroso, focusing on a more sustainable approach. Her new 'Mr Loveland' upholstered system, elegantly coherent with the original design, now features softer, gentler seats and backrests, and a new frame made of solid wood rather than tubular steel. The unique placement of the perpendicular wooden feet and the bold upholstery options, such as this canary yellow fabric, enhance the architectural qualities of the horizontal volumes. Price on request, moroso.it
