The Earl and Countess of Wessex visited Arena Birmingham on Friday to watch the gymnastics after Prince Edward wished everyone involved in the Commonwealth Games "an experience of a lifetime".
Edward, 58, and wife Sophie, 57, met volunteers and Army veterans helping to deliver the tournament, and then travelled to the Coventry Stadium to watch the rugby sevens with the Princess Royal and her husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.
