SUPER SAFE
The Scandinavian marque has long been synonymous with innovative safety systems, and the EX90 lives up to Volvo’s reputation on this front, packing no fewer than 16 ultrasonic sensors, eight cameras and five external radar units around the vehicle. Inside, the systems will recognise when the driver is distracted or drowsy and will progressively attempt to alert them. There’s also a lidar sensor with a range of up to 250 m that will allow the driver to safely navigate the EX90 in complete darkness or the harsh glare of direct sunlight. Volvo claims the EX90, using a pulsed laser, can identify a pedestrian as far as 250 m away.
