M-Sport Ford World Rally Team principal Malcolm Wilson won’t give up on the defence of his manufacturers’ world title following the signing of Bryan Bouffier, who will compete on the Monte Carlo and Tour of Corsica rallies this year.
At the end of 2017, Wilson feared the Cumbrian team’s assault wouldn’t be as strong in 2018, but he is now looking to the coming season with increasing confidence.
“I’m determined to have three cars on every rally,” Wilson told MN. “We’ve got two very strong drivers in Seb [Ogier] and Elfyn [Evans] and both of them have proved consistent.
“Away from those events, we’ve got another driver lined up for eight or possibly more rallies and he’s somebody we would be confident of being in a position to score points for us.”
