A CARING seven-year-old has collected hundreds of crisp packets to be turned into blankets for the homeless.
Esme Braddock wanted to help, after seeing many rough sleepers on a family trip to London, and her parents found about groups across the country who could turn old foil-lined packets into blankets.
A simple notice on the family’s front window in Torpoint, Cornwall, has now brought bin bags of crisps to their door – collected by Scouts, Esme’s school and the local Co-op.
Workmen putting down cables in their street have even been posting them through their letterbox.
