A COWBOY scrap metal dealer said to have made £20,000 by operating illegally spent Christmas in jail for not paying a fine of £380.
Rogue trader Shane Barton, aged 47, was ordered to pay the sum for failing to do his unpaid work.
Now he has been locked up for also failing to pay the fine.
Barton was originally handed a community order by a judge back in May, for allowing rubbish to be dumped in a farmer's field and a back lane.
The father-of-four also operated without a licence.
Plymouth magistrates found that he had shown culpable neglect in failing to pay the £380 fine he was handed in September.
