A PLYMOUTH used car salesman is putting his skills behind the wheel to the test after taking part in the first event in an invitation-only endurance racing championship at Silverstone.
James Alford, owner of Platinum Car Centre in Pennycross, made a competitive start to the 2022 Britcar Trophy Championship in his VW Golf, run by Saxon Motorsport.
Sponsored by warranty experts WMS Group (UK) Ltd, the 37-year-old motor racing enthusiast put in the fastest laps in qualifying and was placed third and second in the day’s races at the Northamptonshire circuit.
He is expected to race a full calendar of events in the championship, which involves six gruelling endurance races at some of the country’s top tracks.
