They were forgotten by the Government.
It should have realised very early on that this is what could have happened.
More should have done more to help us protect our elderly residents.
The PM was wrong when he referred in the Commons to the guidance about the likely effect of the outbreak on elderly residents.
We received that guidance from Public Health England and it clearly said people in care homes were highly unlikely to become infected.
That was tragically wrong.
It meant the elderly did not get the priority they deserved.
