Freddie: My ‘Robin Hood' past at Woolies!

FREDDIE Flintoff has confessed to a ‘Robin Hood’ past when he worked at Woolworths as a lad – stealing expensive goods for his pals.

The cricketer and Top Gear presenter, 43, admitted he even once ‘acquired’ a PlayStation to help some friends out at Christmas.

The Lancashire legend Ashes hero described his thieving as ‘Robin Hoodstyle heroics, looking after the poorer families of the North West’.

Freddie, now estimated to be worth around £15m, has revealed his wayward past in his new autobiography, ‘The Book of Fred’.

On his teenage job, he says: “If I tell anyone born before 1985 I worked in Woolies, they automatically assume I must have stolen from the pick’n’mix. And I did.

“They were long shifts and I needed the sugar to get me through. But chocolate mice, bon bons and Black Jacks were the least of their worries.

“I may have been involved in acquiring a PlayStation.
