A high-pressure system is due to block the incoming Storm Lola as it crosses the Atlantic, leading to the hottest weekend of the year so far.
Met Eireann revealed: “Of particular note is Storm Lola, named by the Portuguese Met Service, which will give strong winds over the Azores Islands tomorrow.
“Closer to home, high pressure will block the advance of Atlantic low pressure over us for the next several days.”
