Pep Guardiola hailed his Manchester City side for clinching their place in two knockout stages in the knockout stages with two games to spare.
Phil Foden’s first-half strike was enough to send City into the last 16 and maintain their 100 percent record in the competition this season.
It is the eighth year running City have reached the knockout stages, although they have fallen in the quarter-finals in the past three seasons.
Paying tribute to his players, Guardiola said: “We’ve had an incredible group stage, especially the two games away. We’ve already qualified and we’ll try to finish first. I know it looks easy but it’s not.
