Shearer Leaves For New Coffee Role - Cat Quitting BBC For Her Cream Job

BBC Scotland news stalwart Catriona Shearer shocked fans yesterday by revealing she’s quitting after 16 years.

She said Reporting Scotland’s early shifts “give me wrinkles and I’m very tired”.

Catriona, 40, from Glasgow, has two daughters, Remi, five, and three-year-old Biba with husband David Balfour.

She leaves the Beeb in three weeks and has a new job working from home for the British Coffee Association.

She said: “I’m leaving the BBC. I’ve had 16 years of doing a job I barely dared dream of being in the position to do.

“It’s been great. I’ve had some incredible experiences and met some fabulous people. But it’s time to move on.
