Hospital saved my son.. and helped rebuild our family

Michael Gartshore’s mum, Tracey, 35, said the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow not only saved her son’s life but “they also put us back together as a family”.

When kids are going through stem cell transplants at the RHC the family get access to a psychologist to help them through it.

The post was a pilot project, funded for three years by the Anthony Nolan Trust. And because of its success it will get NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde funding. Tracey, 35, from

Dunfermline said: “I’m so glad the psychology service will continue to run; it helps so many families like us.”
