Obesity Crackdown As Virus Risk Soars For The Overweight

Boris Johnson is to launch an anti-obesity drive following concerns that being overweight increases coronavirus health risks.

Downing Street has reportedly seen proposals drawn up by officials at the Department of Health and Social Care to tackle the nation’s weight problem.

They are said to include family fitness schemes and new healthy eating advice.

There could also be an increase in bariatric surgery, including gastric bands and bypasses, for the most obese.
