BLACKPOOL’s bid to lure more visitors has been a towering success – with a staggering 75 per cent more coming than before the pandemic.
One of the UK’s best-loved resorts suffered badly in 2020 when Covid effectively shut the Lancashire town.
But it has reported a “huge surge” in visitors last year, surpassing pre-pandemic levels .
And its Christmas visitor numbers were the highest in living memory.
Ian White, of hoteliers group StayBlackpool, said: “It was brilliant to see the numbers of people around and such a happy atmosphere.”
