The 58th edition of Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair witnessed an overwhelming response of the sales and the visitors.
The huge 58th Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair (BGJF) witnessed 7 billion baht worth of purchase orders within two days of operation. Commerce Minister Mrs Apiradi Tantraporn revealed that the 58th BGJF has met with glowing success after being opened for just two days, witnessing almost 7 billion baht worth of purchase orders. The fair has also seen an overwhelming turnout of more than 12,000 visitors. Both sales and a visitor turnout are expected to surge beyond targets.
The fair was held from September 7-11 at Challenger Halls 1-3, Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani. The main aim of the fair is to steer Thailand on the solid path to becoming the world’s trade and production center for gems and jewellery and Asia’s important trade stage that provides opportunities for importers from overseas to meet and negotiate trade deals. International Trade Promotion Department (DITP) is also strongly committed to making the Fair one of the world’s top three gems and jewellery events by 2018.
This year 791 companies were exhibiting fascinating gems and jewellery at 2,107 booths comprising 640 domestic companies showcasing their products in 1,929 booths and 151 overseas firms exhibiting their wares in 178 booths.
