Twenty five years after the classic TV comedy ’Allo ’Allo!, which was filmed in East Anglia, ended, actress Sue Hodge remembers it as fondly as ever.

Her role as Mimi Labonq in ’Allo ’Allo made her a household name and was, says Sue Hodge, like “a little bit of glitter”.

’Allo ’Allo ran from 1982 to 1992 and was watched by more than 20 million viewers each week in the UK alone.

The BBC TV series is still shown across the world and fans of the sitcom have the chance to find out more about what life was like on set thanks to Sue’s show Mimi and Me, which she hopes to bring to East Anglia later this year.

Sue says: “I’ve got a one woman show that I do, telling the audience about the truth behind the makings of it.

“You had to be there to really know and to see … about some of the out-takes/cock-ups that ended up on the studio floor.”

Promising to be a visual feast of laughter and music, the musical extravaganza features Sue’s husband, Keith ‘Paddington’ Richards, at the piano, as she recalls the backstage antics of the well-loved cast.

The show promises a witty insight with hilarious behind the scenes stories during the making of one of the most successful British TV series ever. Add in a splash of clever comedy and music, and you have a unique show filled with memories and television nostalgia.

Sue says the show is followed by a question and answer session for the audience “where they get to ask anything they dare to ask or anything they ever wanted to know - and I’m forced to answer!”

Sue starred in ’Allo ’Allo from 1987 until it ended in February 1992. She joined the show after being spotted by the late David Croft, who wrote the series with the late Jeremy Lloyd.
