Piers Morgan divided the nation when he sensationally quit Good Morning Britain in the backlash over his criticisms of Meghan Markle. But while he came under fire for comments about the Duchess of Sussex that led to more than 40,000 complaints to TV watchdog Ofcom, new can reveal his co-host, Susanna Reid, has been left shocked by his decision to resign.

“Susanna is absolutely gutted,” a source told us. “They have a comical relationship where it appears they don’t get on, but she was very upset and shocked because they were a winning formula. They got some of the best ratings for GMB. She’s worried about what will happen to her career because she gelled with Piers and it was good chemistry.”
