South Korean envoy calls BD pioneer of arts in S Asia.
A 10-day solo exhibition of renowned artist Maksuda Iqbal Nipa, jointly organised by Gallery Cosmos and Bangladesh National Museum, began at Nalinikanta Bhattashali Gallery of the museum in the city on Tuesday.
The cover of a book titled ‘Maksuda Iqbal Nipa-Episodes of Her Gaze’ was also unveiled at the inaugural ceremony of the exhibition held at the main auditorium of the National Museum.
The exhibition with 20 exclusive artworks of Nipa who is renowned for her colourful abstractions often composed on very large canvases will remain open from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm every day from Saturday to Thursday and from 2:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Friday till August 10.
President of Bangladesh Enterprise Institute Farooq Sobhan, South Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Ahn Seong-Doo, Australian High Commissioner in Dhaka Julia Niblett, artist and art writer Javed Jalil jointly launched the book and inaugurated the exhibition.
Gallery Cosmos Chairman and UNB Editor-in-Chief Enayetullah Khan delivered the welcome speech at the inaugural ceremony presided over by Director General of Bangladesh National Museum Faizul Latif Chowdhury.
