The recovery of the New Zealand and Canadian federations could look positive to beleaguered Britain
THE British Equestrian Federation’s (BEF) troubles are not unique — but its counterparts’ recoveries look promising.
H&H reported that funding for equestrian sport in the UK could be thrown into jeopardy after outgoing chief executive Clare Salmon called for an independent investigation into its administration (news, 27 July).
Other national federations have recently faced challenges — but are now emerging.
Equestrian Canada (EC) had well-publicised problems, with concerns raised on management and finances, and directors’ resignations (news, 9 February).
EC chief executive Eva Havaris told H&H “the past year has been challenging, with highs and lows”.
