Time For A Break

September is that inbetweeny time when we are finally allowed to catch our breath, ever so briefly, before the autumnal onslaught. It’s when we might manage a holiday, normally of the busman’s type, to Cumbria, to check out the sheep, the terrain, and the air, and a few days in Wales to buy new rams. This year we’re fitting in some time on Scilly too, now that we have such brilliant house and farm sitters to cope with the everyday tasks. Well, it did take us nine years of living here before we took any holiday at all, so I feel we are owed as much as we can manage to take, even if it adds up to rather less than a fortnight.
