Director Chad Stahelski wants John Wick: Chapter 2 to be a modern myth
Hitman thriller John Wick slipped onto screens beneath SFX’s radar. Nothing about the 2014 revenge caper resembled science fiction at first glance. But when Keanu Reeves’s Wick pays for entry to the Continental hotel with gold coins, it’s clear something fantastical – at the very least alternate world – is happening. An assassins’ guild operating in New York’s underworld with its own lingo, code and currency? The 2017 sequel just appeared on Red Alert’s hit list.
