As you’ll notice from our cover this month, we invited a Welsh motoring journalist to visit Botswana and Namibia in a Toyota Hilux. It was his first time in Africa, and the trip left quite an impression.  
Our second big adventure this month is a journey from Umhlanga in the east to Hondeklip Bay in the west. How does a 1979 Hilux compare to a 2017 model? To find out, we took both to an off-road trail. To say that Toyota’s bakkie has evolved significantly is quite an understatement…
We also look at the all-new Mitsubishi Triton, and find out what kind of sporty second-hand SUV you can buy for R400 000. Chris du Plooy of RFS Auto examines the second-hand Ford Ranger market.
