First and foremost, I would like to wish each one of you a very sincere, warm and happy new year 2023. In with the New Year, we are psyched to experience the celebration of designs together with you! We are so grateful to all of you for your support and association. You make every day meaningful for us. Thank you. This month’s cover features the contextual design of the Bhagatpur resort by Soumyendu Shankar Ray of Vastukar Architects who used natural materials and indigenous construction techniques blended with the creative use of recycled materials. Also featured in this issue are winning entries from the unique writing-based competition curated by Kritika Juneja of ArchValor in which participants had to synthesize their traditional and contemporary understanding to come up with a design story. A clear bohemian theme is inculcated in a sober and elegant way at the Ahmedabad party home designed by Ashish Patel, Nikhil Patel, Nilesh Dalsania & Vasudev Sheta of Ace Associates. The vacation home by Shruti Dabir of Atelier Landschaft makes optimum use of the site by deriving the volumes in a linear format along the edge of the lake. Manoj Patel of Manoj Patel Design Studio creatively fosters an interactive planning interface between inside and the outside at the Vadodara home. Universal design, proper rainwater dispersion, dynamic views and subtle décor are high points of the Salyakote Himalayan resort designed by Sunny Thakur & Neeti Thakur of Metaphor Creators. Raveena Panchal of The Art Container envisioned the interior of the Ahmedabad home as sheets of paper flowing through space, which bend, twist, and fold. Finally, it makes me proud to mention that we are calling entries for the second edition of GLITZ Tejomaya Women in Design Award 2023.
