IA&B's 29th Anniversary issue of October '15 with the theme is “Power of The Hand” highlights the important role of stone masons, carpenters, craftsmen and artisans in the evolution of art, architecture and design. It simultaneously looks at how technology also acts as a tool to ease rigorous processes and encourage what the human cannot efficiently apply. Thus the issue focuses on the revival and rejuvenation of neglected arts and crafts and commemorates architects and designers who strive to restore this connect at the same time glorifying benefits of the digital age for an enhanced future. It also puts light on the pros and cons of sketching in the field of architecture versus digitisation of design processes.
The issue consists of seminal projects of Indian and International architects, sourced essays and papers from architectural theorists and critics, contributions from eminent authors on the theme.
