Desh 2 December 2020 issue pays tribute to Soumitra Chattopadhyay, the actor who seamlessly bridged the gap between stardust and reality in Bengali cinema, who was also an accomplished thespian, poet, orator and painter— a Renaissance man and a Bengali cultural icon. It comprises essays and memoirs by Sudhir Chakraborty, Sanjay Mukhopadhyay, Bratya Basu, Sekhar Samaddar and Payel Sengupta. There is an essay on the eminent poet, scholar and translator Alokeranjan Dasgupta, by Joy Goswami.
