In November, we begin to prepare in lots of ways for Christmas, and sometimes with too much emphasis on accumulating even more material things. Fr Aelred Magee challenges us to look at our attitude to this and ask if we are in danger of our possessions ‘possessing’ us. It is of course also the month dedicated to the Holy Souls and Fr Shane Crombie has a lovely and consoling article about how death is really about ‘going home’. Two great Americans are featured in this month’s magazine. The first is President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the longest-serving U.S. president features in “It Happened This Month”; the second, the renowned gymnast, Dominique Dawes is the subject of our “Convert to Catholicism” article. The writer of Evangelium, Fr Kellan Scott OP was ordained in September, and you can see photographs of this lovely occasion in our Supporters’ Photo Gallery. There is a connection between the Saint of the Month Lucy of Narni and the writer C.S. Lewis, the creator of the Chronicles of Narnia. In an article about Fr.
