NEEDLES MISSION!
The Needles, off the west tip of the Isle of Wight, are renowned for the treacherous waters that surround them. Complex tidal patterns combined with strong winds and underwater rock shelves combine to make some gnarly, choppy conditions that are punishing for any sort of watercraft. With lockdown behind them and yearning for an adventure, Tom Court, Ross Williams and Tom Buggy organized a mad mission out to these colossal rocks on a kite, wing foil and a windsurfer to celebrate the summer solstice! John Carter was on hand in the safety boat with his brand new flagship Canon 1DX M3 camera to capture the images, while Tom Buggy, a well-known Extreme Sailing Series sailor, was thrown into the deep end on Rossâs slalom kit and tells his story of the mission.

FRENCH TALENT
Young, French and fearless, at 19 years of age Baptiste Cloarec has already gained a reputation for going big, very big! Known as the âCrazy Frenchyâ, his talents have been recognised by RRD, who snapped him up on their team at the start of the year. Itâs not all play hard though for the up and coming young sailor, as alongside his windsurfing he is studying for a career in the Merchant Navy. John Carter caught up with Baptiste earlier this year at one of the Frenchmanâs favourite sailing locations, Cape Town, and asked him to tell us more about his life.

THE DUNKERBECK DYNASTY
The iconic sail number E-11 was the mark of Bjorn Dunkerbeck on the water for his entire career. Now Dunky has stepped back from full-time professional competition, he has passed the prestigious sail number down to his son Liam. John Carter sat down with father and son to learn more about their relationship, how Bjorn is on a mission to promote and grow windsurfing and Liamâs windsurfing ambitions.
