Dad paralysed in accident waiting for care package to get him home

A FATHER paralysed in an accident 18 months ago is still living 200 miles away from his family due to months of delay in getting him a care package so he can return home to Cornwall.

Steve Todd, 45, fell down the stairs at home in Carnkie near Redruth on December 4, 2023, suffering a spinal cord injury which left him unable to move his lower body and with only limited upper body movement.

Mr Todd, who has Type 1 diabetes, fell while suffering from the effects of low blood sugar.

Although he’s now been judged fit to return home, the NHS has yet to provide him with a care package which would allow him to do so.
