Building safety Adopt collaborative approach between managing agents, professional engineers

We refer to the letter "Train managing agents in building inspections to flag defects which may endanger people" (March 17).
It suggested that managing agents (MAs) should be trained to conduct building inspections to identify potential safety risks.
Under current regulations, MAs are not allowed to undertake structural inspections and certification unless they are qualified as professional engineers (PEs).
