Two school students meet watery grave

In a tragic mishap, two students of a private English medium school in Keonjhar district drowned while taking a bath to beat the heat in a creek of Baitarani River.
With mandatory forest clearance putting brakes on several infrastructure projects of the Centre and State, the Odisha Government on Friday initiated steps to expedite the forest clearance related issues for hassle-free implementation of the projects.
"There is a need for regular coordination between the concerned departments and the Forest Department for speedy and smooth clearance of the forest land involved in various development projects undertaken by the central and the state government in Odisha", additional Chief Secretary Satyabrata Sahu, who presided over a high-level meeting on Friday, said.
A review meeting was held today under the direction of the Additional Chief Secretary, Satyabrata Sahu. It has been decided to arrange for speedy and smooth resolution of various issues related to clearance of forest land in the projects by holding meetings with the departments.
