Odisha to establish State Highways Authority

The state cabinet has approved the Odisha State Road Policy 2025 and sanctioned the establishment of the Odisha State Highways Authority.
The decision was announced by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in the state Assembly on Friday.
In addition to these developments, the cabinet introduced key reforms, including a revision in resettlement policies for compassionate appointments, approval of the AB PMJAY health card scheme, and modifications to the District Mineral Foundation (DMF) rules.
The 'Developed Villages, Developed Odisha' initiative also received government approval.
The Odisha State Road Policy aims to enhance the efficiency and monitoring of the state's road network.
The policy will focus on: Establishing guidelines for the inter-departmental handover of roads, ensuring sustainable funding for road infrastructure management and maintenance, improving road safety to reduce accidents and fatalities, strengthening road sector organizations and enhancing bridge infrastructure across the state.
