Lolit Solis, veteran showbiz writer, talent manager, 78

After a long battle with kidney disease, veteran showbiz columnist and talent manager Lolit Solis passed away on Thursday at the age of 78, her family announced in a statement.
"Manay Lolit leaves behind a loving family and many friends who will always cherish her memory," her family said.
They described Solis as "a feisty and staunch loyal supporter, manager and friend."
"We love you, our dearest Manay. You will forever be in our hearts. Rest well now in the loving embrace of our Lord," the statement declared.
Since 2022, Solis had been receiving dialysis treatment at the FEU-NRMF Medical Center in Novaliches, Quezon City.
In 2023, Solis revealed she had an acute kidney infection.
Solis started as a reporter in the 1970s covering the police beat.
She later crossed over to entertainment reporting for The Philippine STAR and Pilipino STAR Ngayon.
