Rahul Ton in Vain as Sudharsan, Gill Give GT Big Win

RETURNING to the top of the order for Delhi Capitals, KL Rahul smashed an unbeaten 112 from 65 balls, taking his team to 199/3 against Gujarat Titans at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi on Sunday. In response, B Sai Sudharsan hit an unbeaten century while Shubman Gill slammed 93 not out to help the team win by 10 wickets.

Coming into the match, Delhi had a spot open at the top with Jake Fraser-McGurk not returning to the IPL. As a result, the team management wanted to have Rahul, giving the solidity and consistency in the lead up to the playoffs. Rahul made the most of the chance and became the first right-handed batter to score a century this IPL season. Rahul, who had been shuffling through the middle-order to suit the needs of the team and play the aggressor role, was in his element at the top.
